Anyone in a group iMessage can add or remove someone from the conversation. You can remove a person from a group iMessage that has at least three other people. You can’t add or remove people from group MMS messages or group SMS messages.

How to remove yourself from a group text on iPhone

If you possess an iPhone, exiting a group text is simple. Follow these steps:

• Select and open the group text you want to quit
• Click the top part on the group page where members’ names are displayed or showing the group name
• Tap the info button, which will show the page details
• On the page details, scroll down and click on the “Leave This Conversation” option to quit the group text

If you do not see the need to take yourself off a group text and you do not want to be troubled by its frequent notifications, you can select the “Mute” option.

If you want to opt-out of group text on an Android phone, you should know that it is impossible to leave the group entirely. You will not come across a “Leave This Conversion” option on Android phones, but you can choose to mute the conversion on the group. Trying to delete the group text will only make it disappear until someone sends a message to the group, and then it reappears.

How to leave a chat group on Facebook

If you have Facebook Messenger App on your phone, and you want to exit a group text that you feel is not important anymore, here is what to do:

• Open the group and tap the top part of the chat where names of members are shown
• Select the page setting and scroll down to find the “Leave Chat” option
